Award-Winning Product Introduction
Polyploid giant reed is a new type of biomass energy plant. Its cultivation can help alleviate energy shortages, significantly reduce carbon emissions, and has broad development and application prospects. Polyploid giant reed has the following advantages:
1) High survival rate: Polyploid giant reed plants are tall, erect, and clumping, with well-developed root systems, wide adaptability, strong resistance, high yield, and high crude protein and sugar content. They can be planted in various soil conditions with extremely high survival rates, although growth and biomass may vary.
2) Strong adaptability: Polyploid giant reed begins to grow at 12-15℃ and thrives at 25-35℃. It can safely overwinter above -20℃. It can be planted in sandy beaches, Gobi deserts, barren hills, mountains, fields, embankments, saline-alkali lands, forests, and abandoned farmland with water sources.
3) High calorific value: The calorific value of polyploid giant reed biomass fuel pellets is between 3800-4400 kcal/kg, varying depending on growing conditions.
4) High yield: The yield of the first and second harvests of polyploid giant reed is slightly lower, with approximately 5-8 tons of fresh grass per mu in the north (within 3 years). After harvesting, the yield increases year by year with increased tillering, reaching 10-13 tons per mu during the high-yield period, or even higher under good water and fertilizer conditions. It can be planted year-round in the south, significantly increasing yield. Once planted, giant reed provides continuous income for over 20 years.
Based on these characteristics, polyploid giant reed can be used in various fields, such as producing biomass pellet fuel to replace coal combustion and help achieve carbon neutrality. It can also be used to produce green methanol, green aviation fuel, furniture panels, pulp fiber, and silage.

In January 2025, the State Council Information Office held a series of press conferences on "the achievements of China's high-quality economic development." The National Development and Reform Commission proposed promoting the construction of national carbon peak pilot projects and accelerating the establishment of a number of zero-carbon parks, communities, and villages. From a policy trend analysis, biomass heating and combined heat and power projects can provide stable "green heat," with obvious energy-saving and environmental protection advantages.
