Redsun's analysis of the energy-saving and carbon-reduction benefits of empowering petrochemical enterprises across the entire industrial chain

Tianjin Redsun Science and Technology Development Group Co., Ltd. I. Biomass Energy Replacing Fossil Energy
Currently, carbon emissions from the petrochemical industry mainly come from fossil fuel combustion, industrial production processes, and the purchase of electricity and heat. Data shows that fuel combustion and electricity and heat supply during the production process account for 66.1% of the carbon emissions from petrochemical production, and the industrial production process accounts for 3.9%, making the green transformation of energy for petrochemical enterprises a top priority. As early as June 2022, Redsun Group launched scientific research cooperation with Tianjin Petrochemical on biomass fuel co-firing, testing co-firing ratios of 10% and 20% biomass pellets. Experimental results show that the 465 t/h ultra-high-pressure circulating fluidized bed boiler (CFB) in the thermal power department can operate stably at a 20% biomass pellet co-firing ratio. Subsequently, Redsun Group pioneered the "three stable and one guaranteed" (stable output, stable quality, stable cost, and guaranteed supply) biomass fuel supply system, promising to provide petrochemical enterprises with sufficient and stable biomass fuel.
Taking Tianjin Petrochemical as an example, from August 2023 to February of the following year, the company supplied a total of 20,000 tons of biomass pellets, with a co-firing ratio fluctuating between 5% and 20%. During use, the circulating fluidized bed boiler operated smoothly, and environmental protection indicators were qualified and met standards. The entire process reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 28,800 tons, reduced sulfur dioxide emissions by 16 kg, and saved costs of 56,000 yuan based on the amount of limestone used in the plant. Taking this as an opportunity, Redsun Group is serving petrochemical enterprises such as Dagang Power Plant and Yangliuqing Power Plant to build biomass coal co-firing projects, continuously expanding its achievements. For the fuel needs of petrochemical enterprises outside the region, Redsun Group can invest in the construction of plants to provide supporting supplies. Within a radius of 200 kilometers around 1-2 petrochemical enterprises, a 500,000-ton/year biomass pellet processing plant needs to be built to achieve stable supply. After full production, it can replace 350,000 tons of power coal annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 665,000 tons and sulfur dioxide emissions by 4,000 tons, resulting in carbon benefits of 52 million yuan. At the same time, it reduces the amount of desulfurization raw materials by 57%, reduces ash slag production, and greatly reduces disposal pressure and costs.
II. Reed Planting Replacing Coal to Achieve Carbon Reduction Goals
"Green Island No. 1" polyploid reed is a highly efficient energy plant. The dry matter yield of reed can reach more than 4 tons per mu, with a calorific value of 3800-4400 kcal/kg, 800 kcal/kg higher than the average of other straws, superior to most agricultural raw materials, and has advantages such as strong resistance, soil improvement, and soil and water conservation. According to calculations, each link in the reed seedling cultivation-planting-processing-utilization industrial chain can produce corresponding carbon emission reductions. For every ton of dry reed produced, an average of 0.3 tons of organic fertilizer is consumed, producing 1 ton of biomass fuel, which in turn produces 0.4 tons of green methanol or replaces the combustion of 0.57 tons of standard coal. Based on last year's highest carbon market price (i.e., 100-110 yuan/ton carbon emission rights price), the use of dry reed per ton instead of coal can create carbon sink income exceeding 304 yuan.
Redsun Group plans to cultivate 20 million mu of reed by 2032, generating nearly 10 billion yuan in annual carbon sink revenue. A stable supply system will be ensured through the targeted delivery of reed biomass fuel, supporting the "three stable and one guaranteed" policy. Carbon offsetting from reed carbon sinks will contribute to the company's zero-carbon goals. Based on a 15,000-mu demonstration project focused on improved reed cultivation, Redsun Group, through full-chain technological empowerment and standardized management, commits to supplying petrochemical companies with reed at a dry-matter price of no more than 400 yuan per ton, establishing a long-term stable market price.
III. Functional Chemical Supply
Redsun Group's subsidiary, Ruide Sain New Materials Co., Ltd., established in 2007, is an innovative enterprise focusing on the production and sales of coal chemical auxiliaries, petroleum chemical auxiliaries, and water treatment agents. The company has developed more than 100 products, including ethylene refining agents, coal chemical agents, and water treatment agents, covering various aspects of petrochemical equipment, from reaction catalysis to product refining and pollutant treatment. All of them have the functions of ensuring smooth operation of equipment, extending service life, and energy saving and carbon reduction. For many years, the company has been rated as an excellent supplier by Sinopec (Tianjin) Petrochemical Co., Ltd., with an annual supply capacity exceeding 200,000 tons. In addition, in response to the high-standard wastewater treatment needs of the petrochemical industry, the new materials company provides a series of water treatment agents and supporting treatment solutions, which have already achieved synergistic increase in energy consumption and pollution reduction, reducing reagent consumption by 15%-25% and equipment maintenance costs by 10%-15%, and gaining high recognition and long-term trust from customers such as PetroChina, Jiu Tai Group, and Baofeng Group.
IV. Water Treatment Supply and Service
Redsun Group's subsidiary, Ruide Sain Water Industry Co., Ltd., is the first company in Tianjin to use municipal sewage as a water source for reclaimed water reuse and one of the first operators of upgraded sewage treatment plants. It has more than 20 years of experience in water plant construction and operation and maintenance and can provide petrochemical enterprises with a full set of services for water treatment system design and investment operation. At present, the 30,000-ton/day reclaimed water plant operated by the company has been providing demineralized water, circulating water, and softened water to the steam turbine and high-pressure boiler industrial equipment of the Tianjin Petrochemical Thermal Power Department since December 2013. The water quality far exceeds the Class 1 demineralized water standard, exceeding customer expectations. This project achieves more than 70% regional sewage recycling annually, achieving zero consumption of fresh water for industrial use in Tianjin Petrochemical, while greatly reducing the comprehensive cost of water, electricity, acid, and alkali for petrochemical enterprises, saving up to 50 million yuan annually and reducing CO₂ emissions by more than 5,600 tons.
The Huanke Lantian Sewage Treatment Plant operated and maintained by Ruide Sain Water Industry has a daily processing capacity of 40,000 tons and bears the responsibility for the water treatment safety of Dagang District. The Ruixi Water Industrial Sewage Treatment Plant, with a daily processing capacity of 20,000 tons, bears the responsibility for the industrial sewage treatment needs of more than 100 enterprises in the petrochemical park. Each water plant adheres to lean management of technology leadership, energy saving and carbon reduction, and intelligent operation, achieving digital, standardized, and intelligent levels, achieving the lowest total social cost and the highest output efficiency, a new model of intelligent water plants, becoming a customized differentiated water resource solution for petrochemical enterprises, effectively separating and recycling raw water, reclaimed water, and wastewater, and achieving a significant reduction in water resource consumption and treatment costs.
V. Sludge Disposal
Redsun Group's Saihong Organic Solid Waste Treatment Center has a daily processing capacity of 400 tons and an annual processing capacity of 120,000 tons. It utilizes high-temperature aerobic fermentation technology for the resource utilization of municipal sludge and other organic solid waste, producing 60,000 tons of organic fertilizer annually, which can support the planting needs of 60,000 mu of Arundo donax. Based on this technology system, Redsun Group plans to recycle sludge from petrochemical companies' water purification systems and sludge from domestic sewage to produce organic fertilizer for Arundo donax planting, reducing energy costs and ultimately achieving extremely low-cost disposal, helping enterprises achieve zero-waste factories.
VI. Desulfurization Gypsum Disposal
Petrochemical desulfurization gypsum waste can be used as a neutralizer for saline-alkali land improvement, supporting Arundo donax planting. Each ton of desulfurization gypsum can improve 0.5 mu of saline-alkali land, replacing chemical agents. According to statistics, the annual processing of 120,000 tons of desulfurization gypsum can reduce CO₂ emissions by about 15,000 tons.
