Reed nano-cellulose new blue ocean: Redsun, Sustainable New Materials, Ocean College, and Tianjin Deruite reach strategic cooperation, opening a new journey for green materials

On the afternoon of May 16th, the two-year anniversary celebration of Yongxu New Materials, themed "Green Nanotechnology: Making Life Better," was grandly held in Tianjin. As an innovative event in the materials field, it attracted representatives from government, industry, academia, and research to gather together.
At the meeting, Tianjin Redsun Technology Development Group Co., Ltd., Tianjin Yongxu New Materials Co., Ltd., Tianjin University College of Marine Sciences and Technology, and Tianjin Derui Special Industry Co., Ltd. reached a strategic cooperation agreement. They will conduct in-depth cooperation on the efficient utilization of Arundo donax resources and the green manufacturing of nanocellulose, giving full play to their respective advantages and jointly exploring new blue oceans in the green materials industry.
This cooperation brings together the three major advantages of "raw materials, technology, and products." Relying on university empowerment, it is expected to achieve a value leap from "a single blade of grass" to "an entire industry." The Arundo donax variety "Green Oasis No. 1," developed and cultivated by Redsun Group, has a cellulose content of more than 46% and a length of approximately 1.2-3 mm, covering a wide range of short to medium-long fiber production and manufacturing. It can be applied to multiple scenarios such as papermaking, textiles, and composite materials. Compared to other straws, "Green Oasis No. 1" has a high comprehensive cellulose content, resulting in a pulp yield close to bamboo pulp. The raw material also breaks through the geographical limitations of "Moso bamboo" production, offering greater market and cost advantages. After years of promotion and planting, Redsun has achieved industrial-scale development in Tianjin. This cooperation will lead the construction of a smart manufacturing base for Arundo donax nanocellulose, promoting Tianjin to become a national innovation center for bio-based materials. Yongxu New Materials, another cooperating party, mainly engages in the research and development of new "bamboo-replacing-plastic" products. Its core team comes from the College of Marine Sciences at Tianjin University, holding more than 60 authorized invention patents. Its products, including fruit and vegetable preservation, nano-enhanced composite plastics, and water-based coatings, have opened up a green transformation path for bio-based materials, forming a new blue ocean for high-value Arundo donax applications. Another cooperating party, Tianjin Derui Company, has achieved remarkable results in plant protection and planting promotion. It has nearly a thousand acres of breeding bases in Tianjin and several integrated breeding bases nationwide. In the future, it will promote the standardization and normalization of raw material quality assurance, ensuring the low-cost advantage of raw materials.
This signing ceremony, based on Tianjin enterprise collaboration and driven by university empowerment, not only realizes a technological leap from "using grass instead of bamboo" but also subverts the traditional biomass raw material system, triggering a "grass-based material" revolution that reshapes the industrial landscape. When "grass" is no longer a synonym for low-end raw materials, with the research and market launch of Arundo donax nanocellulose, a new blue ocean for the green economy will be powerfully opened.
